Bushra is a Research Scientist at Suthar Lab. Her current research focuses on evaluating the differential neutralizing antibody response to SARSCoV-2 infection by investigating the constantly evolving COVID-19 variants across diverse populations.
Her work employs focus reduction neutralization tests to detect antibodies or screen antiviral drugs that inhibit SARSCoV-2 replication in vitro. Her earlier research centered on understanding the molecular mechanisms of neurosteroid actions in central nervous system injury and repair. This included studying the use of progesterone and novel progesterone analogs at various developmental stages, as well as examining neonatal and aged models of traumatic brain injury and ischemic stroke.
