Jacob Vander Velden

Jake was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. He relocated to Atlanta in 2018 and obtained his Master's degree in neuroscience from Georgia State University. He joined the Suthar lab in 2022 and has worked on a variety of projects including, but not limited to: the characterization of Zika infection in vitro, specifically antibody-dependent enhancement; immune response to SARS-CoV2; SARS-CoV2 virus propagation. He is sort of a jack-of-all-trades in the lab and assists in most projects. Outside the lab, he hosts trivia once a week and has the most random memory for inconsequential facts. He's also a mega nerd and can talk your head off about The Legend of Zelda and improved traffic methodology.
