Dr. Joseph Rouse, MS, PhD, is a scientist at Emory Vaccine Center with expertise in microbiology and immunology. Dr. Rouse received his BS and MS degrees in molecular biology from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside studying transcriptional regulation of metabolic stress responses in bacteria. He received his PhD in biomedical sciences from the Medical College of Wisconsin, researching immune mechanisms of Lyme arthritis. He participated in a post-doctoral fellowship at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, studying host immune responses to influenza infection and immunization. His current research in Dr. Mehul Suthar’s lab focuses on immune mechanisms of defense against West Nile Virus and other Flaviviruses.
