Mitchell Kendzel, PhD

Bioinformatics Analyst, Sr

Dr. Mitchell Kendzel is a Bioinformatician in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Infectious Diseases at Emory University School of Medicine. He received his PhD in Biological and Biomedical Sciences from Emory University, where he researched and developed simulation and predictive modeling frameworks to describe the dynamics of animal populations as they move and interact with their environment. In the Suthar Lab, his work has expanded to leveraging machine learning and artificial intelligence to investigate the immune response to viral infection, integrating large-scale genomic and transcriptomic datasets to identify shared molecular pathways across across diverse disease contexts. With a strong foundation in computational biology, Dr. Kendzel is dedicated to advancing our understanding of infectious disease through cutting-edge bioinformatic approaches.
